Sheltie dogs can lose fur due to a variety of reasons, including seasonal shedding, stress, poor diet, allergies, parasites, or underlying health issues. It is important to consult with a veterinarian to determine the exact cause of the fur loss and to develop a proper treatment plan. Regular grooming, a balanced diet, and a stress-free environment can also help maintain a healthy coat for Sheltie dogs. **

When considering a Sheltie, it is important to keep in mind their high energy levels and need for regular exercise. They are a highly intelligent breed that thrives on mental stimulation, so engaging them in activities like obedience training and interactive play is essential. Shelties also have a thick double coat that requires regular grooming to prevent matting and keep them looking their best. Additionally, their sensitive nature means they respond best to positive reinforcement training methods and gentle handling. **

A Sheltie could fit in with a family that is active and has time to devote to their exercise and grooming needs. Shelties are intelligent, loyal, and affectionate dogs that thrive on human companionship, so they would do well in a family that can provide them with plenty of attention and mental stimulation. However, they can be sensitive and may not do well in a chaotic or loud environment, so it's important to consider the individual needs of the dog and the family before bringing a Sheltie into the home. **

Good Sheltie breeders can be found through the American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) or the Shetland Sheepdog Club of America (SSCA). These organizations have breeder referral programs that can help you find reputable breeders who adhere to the breed standard and prioritize the health and well-being of their dogs. Additionally, attending dog shows and events specific to Shelties can also be a great way to meet and connect with responsible breeders. It's important to do thorough research and ask plenty of questions before choosing a breeder to ensure you are getting a healthy and well-bred Sheltie. **
